Artistas de los 80: The Human League

The Human League es una de las agrupaciones que llegó a los primeros lugares en la década de 1980 y logró consolidar su sonido dentro de la llamada corriente New Wave, combinando elementos del Pop, el Avant-garde y la música electrónica, en sus inicios comenzó como un cuarteto integrado sólo por varones, y luego en los 80, tras problemas entre los integrantes, el cantante Philip Oakey decidió emprender una aventura extraña incorporando a dos muchachas que aún no cumplían mayoría de edad y que sólo bailaban y cantaban alguna frase incidental. Desde sus incios y hasta los primeros años de la década de los 80, el grupo pasó a tomar varios nombres tentativos como The Future, The Men, The League y The League Unlimited Orchestra. A pesar de las críticas y los problemas The Human League logró sobresalir a finales de 1981 con el multimillonario álbum Dare y a partir de ahí el grupo tuvo años de popularidad y muchos premios y reconocimientos, llegando a ser considerado uno de los actos referentes dentro de la música electrónica y el synthpop.
